First of all, shower before swimming and never pee in the pool. This will help minimize irritating chloramines. Frequent bathroom breaks (wash hands please!) for little swimmers can certainly help in this endeavor. Keep anyone who has been sick, particularly with diarrhea, out of the water for 3 days.
Always empty skimmer/filter pump baskets and automatic cleaner bag in between pool cleanings. This will help keep your pool cleaner, for one, but also help keep the chemistry from changing too drastically between our visits.
